Beloit College announced today is moving forward with its Powerhouse project, with a kickoff set for June 9. After years of planning, meetings, discussions and forging partnerships between public and private entities, alumni, parents and friends, the colleges plans to reimagine a decommissioned power plant along the Rock River into a sustainable, fully integrated student union and recreation center are now becoming a reality.

The Village of Orfordville, in conjunction with the Orfordville Economic Development Committee (OEDC) will be hosting a ribbon cutting to welcome McDermott Automotive as the newest resident to the Orfordville Business Park.

A Ribbon Cutting will be held on Saturday April 22nd at 10:00 A.M. at McDermott Automotive, 737 Genesis Dr. Orfordville, WI 53576.

McDermott Automotive is a family owned and operated automotive service and repair shop. (Janesville, WI) This week’s City Council action hit the mark when it approved a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Development Agreement to help facilitate Rinehart Targets’ expansion.

The project, which involves a 9,000 SF building expansion and a commitment to retain / add jobs, will increase the production capacities of this archery target manufacturer. Founded in 1999, this is the company’s third expansion project.

Rinehart Targets, which is located in the City’s Beloit Avenue Industrial Corridor – designs, manufactures and distributes a wide array of archery targets. The company’s products are renowned for their patented, locking inserts; their self-healing foam; and their climate durability. Rinehart Targets are sold by national retailers and can be purchased directly, as well.
