(Janesville, WI) - United Alloy, Inc. (UAI) announced a 112,500 SF expansion, as well as a series of investments that will enhance the company’s contract fabrication capacities and capabilities. Upon completion, this addition will increase UAI’s total footprint to over 200,000 SF and add another 40 new positions to the company’s payroll.
Since 1999, UAI has expanded four times. As an integrated engineering and manufacturing company, UAI supplies the North American OEM power generation markets with custom designed / engineered and manufactured diesel tanks, generator frames, heavy metal fabrications and weldments. In addition to its ISO 9001:2008 and Women Owned Business certifications, UAI is also UL142 and UN31A certified.
The City of Janesville facilitated this project through a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) package valued at nearly $900,000. This TIF package includes land and a low-interest loan, which is structured to be forgivable if specific performance standards are met. Other forms of project related assistance remain pending, as well.
According to James Otterstein, Rock County Economic Development Manager, "This project is a great example of the manufacturing sector's resurgence, as well as further validation regarding the competitive value proposition offered by locating production and/or distribution related activities within the Janesville-Beloit MSA.“
